PARA March 2021

Picture I just got from the March launch meet of the Philadelphia Area Rocketry Association (PARA) at a farm north of the city. That’s Alice’s orange Moon Dog and my purple R1 Knight on launch pad A to start our day. The Moon Dog is a ~25 year old previously unused Estes almost-ready-to-fly that she’s adopted. The R1 is a simple design I made. There was a close call with a cow pen—fortunately empty!—and a huge tree cut pile, but we managed to recover all our rockets for the day. As a major bonus for Alice, the farm was intensely muddy and we came home covered in it, though our rockets made it home clean.

Alice has all the steps down to prep the rockets but is still working on the finger coordination to physically do it all.
